Debra Davis Hinkle

Author, poet, and artist, Debra Davis Hinkle grew up in Manhattan Beach, California, and currently lives in San Luis Obispo with her husband. She loves animals and has six cats (two are feral), and a German shepherd. She is the god-mother of Binx Pittman.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science from California State University, Long Beach, in Business with emphasis in Information Systems.  She has taught computer classes, built websites, and was the past Webmaster for SLO NightWriters.

Debra has been writing for sixteen years. She specializes in creative non-fiction and has numerous awards, including the Lillian Dean First Page Contest several times and The SLO NightWriters Short Story contest.

Her short stories have been published in Tales From the Corner, an anthology, published by Central Coast Press. Debra’s poems have been published in the Tribune and Women’s Press.

Debra is a founding member and leader of the Friday Night Writers’ Group—a writing critique group started in 2008.
